Yesterday, the 25th November, marked the UN’s International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women. This day also marks the start of the 16 Days of Activism, which will run until the 10th of December, Human Right’s Day.

The theme of the 16 Days is #OrangeTheWorld – so we are asking you to help us #OrangeCardiff! (Among other things…)

To kick things off, yesterday we worked with Glamorgan Soroptimists to place orange sashes on various statues around Cardiff. If you spot any of them, give us a shout! You can tag us on Facebook or Twitter.

We’re also putting out daily challenges on social media, so check them out and see how you can get involved. We’d absolutely love everyone to participate in whatever way they can. That might be raising money, sharing something on social media, or challenging harmful myths about domestic/sexual abuse.

During the 16 days, there are loads of events going on in Cardiff to fight violence against women. These include talks, walks and information sessions. Go to our social media pages to find out more.

No matter what you choose to get involved with during the 16 Days of Activism, make sure you do something!
