Your own Relationships

Domestic abuse can happen to anyone, at any age but young people are the most vulnerable. This could be because they may not understand what domestic abuse is. Domestic abuse can include all of the following:

  • Physical – for example: pushing, hitting, slapping
  • Sexual –  for example: rape, pressurising into doing things you don’t want to do, demanding you don’t wear certain clothes
  • Financial – for example: taking your money, criticising what you spend your money on
  • Emotional – for example: putting you down calling you nasty things like fat, ugly, useless; comparing  you to their ex girlfriend/boyfriend
  • Isolation – for example: always checking your phone/Facebook/emails; not allowing you to see your friends
  • Threats – for example: threaten to tell your secrets; threats to harm you or family if you leave

If you feel that you are affected by any of these types of abuse within your relationship, please get in touch with us on our 24 hour line 029 20460566

Please remember if you are in any immediate danger then phone 999
