Group Support

The Freedom Programme
The Freedom Programme is a group support service for women aged 16+. It is a discussion group for women that have experienced or are still experiencing domestic violence. The twelve week rolling programme takes different aspects of ‘The Dominator’, a typical controlling partner and discusses the tactics that he might use to hurt us. These aspects are discussed in small groups and there is no obligation to disclose anything personal.

More information about the origins and content of The Freedom Programme can be found in our Freedom Programme Leaflet and at http://www.freedomprogramme.co.uk

Others
Cardiff Women’s Aid can refer you to other agencies that suit your needs. For younger men and women, the Live It, Learn It programme discusses many things relevant to domestic violence such as appropriate boundaries and the use of mobiles and internet in abusing. There are also mum-and-child groups that can be accessed through Cardiff Women’s Aid.
